No Kings Social

Defending Democracy is hard work! Enjoy a treat after the rally by joining us for a picnic social at Chip-a-Waters Park. Bring a lunch and a (non-alcoholic) beverage to enjoy, and we'll supply the sweets! Our pavilion seats ~ 175: in case of overflow, feel free to bring folding chairs and blankets, and we'll spread out to enjoy some sunshine. Bring along those No Kings signs too, as well as any US flags, Pride flags, or other community representation. As we show everyone who watches that we will defend and support our democracy, we want to strengthen, support, and build our community here at home. Whether you come for a minute or an hour, we'd love to see you! Please RSVP at Mobilize.us -- we'd like to know how many treats to bring!

NO KINGS

All the major resistance groups will be participating in a major nationwide protest to divert attention away from the Washington D.C. spectacle. Indivisible’s theme is NO KINGS! To be more specific, the focus will be on the core issues mentioned previously - ignoring constitutional rule of law, attacks on judiciary, power in the hands of the $$$’d, not the people, etc.

We’ll have a sign making session June 5th at our usual meeting time and place (6:30, Veterans’ Memorial Library Annex).

Mark your calendar and recruit some young folks. We need all hands on deck and hope to line Mission and Pickard with so many people that it is impossible to be ignored!

Immediately following the event, Indivisible Central MI will host a social/picnic at Chipp-A-Waters park. This will be a bring-your-own lunch and non-alcoholic beverage - families welcome! The picnic pavilion holds 175 people, so there may be overflow - if you can, bring folding chairs and/or picnic blankets. The admin team will be providing some sweet treats to celebrate standing up for democracy! Please register on Mobilize.us if you plan on attending so that we have an idea of numbers. Hope to see you there!
